26 Lessons Learned From Running 26.2 Miles!

The finish line at the Wineglass Marathon

At the beginning of 2017, I wrote a post with 12 Bucket List Items that I wanted to cross off in 2017 and one of those items was to run a full marathon. I set a very big goal of one day running 26.2 miles….and I did it! I crossed off this bucket list item back in October and IT WAS AMAZING. It took a lot of time and work to get here and I learned so much on my journey.

In just one week, I will be turning 26 so I figured now is the perfect time to talk about the time I ran 26.2 miles, took 26 selfies, and learned 26 important lessons.

I decided to run the Wineglass Marathon in upstate New York because a friend invited me, the course looked beautiful, and I wanted to run somewhere with nice weather. I absolutely loved the race and during the race, I knew I wanted to document my experience so I took a selfie at every mile.

Yes, 26 selfies…I know that’s a lot. Don’t worry, I’ll only share my two favorites, but I will definitely share all 26 lessons learned. I hope this inspires you to run a marathon because it really is life changing. Stay tuned for more running posts, because this website is Enthusiastic About Running! Enjoy the 26 lessons, my friends!

6 Photos To Inspire You To Visit Cloud Gate AKA The Chicago Bean!

You can’t go to Chicago and NOT see the infamous ‘Chicago Bean’ also known as Cloud Gate. That’s like going to Texas and not eating BBQ, which is what actually inspired this post! If you’ve been following along on my Instagram Stories, you’ll see that on a morning run in Houston, I ran past a sculpture called the Cloud Column that reminded me of The Chicago Bean…and for good reason, it was created by the very same person: Anish Kapoor!

Enjoy six of my favorite photos from my time in Chicago, I hope they inspire you to visit!

How To Celebrate National Love A Tree Day!

Today is National Love a Tree Day, a day that honors and celebrates trees! As someone who loves nature (and yoga), you can say I have a thing for trees….and tree-poses! And sometimes my love for certain things extends to those closest to me!

If you’ve been following for a while, you’ll know that I am #EnthusiasticAboutHiking AND #EnthusiasticAboutYoga, with the tree-pose being my favorite pose! My friend Carrie noticed this and began tree-posing during her trips, which I believe is a great way to celebrate National Love a Tree Day. Get out there, enjoy some nature, and maybe strike a tree pose!

Check out Carrie and her tree-poses throughout Arizona and let me know if she’s inspired you to get out and hike!

7 Photos To Inspire You To Visit Faro Los Morrillos in Puerto Rico!

In just three weeks I’ll be heading to North Carolina to visit one of my closest friends who happens to be Puerto Rican and who also happens to be the very reason I visited this beautiful island a few years ago. I visited Puerto Rico with my friend to celebrate Christmas there (Hello Navidades Boricuas!) and I fell absolutely in love.

There is just so much diverse beauty throughout the island and the food is AMAZING! One of my favorite spots in Puerto Rico is Faro Los Morrillos de Cabo Rojo which is the lighthouse in Cabo Rojo! El Faro at Cabo Rojo remains, to this day, one of the few places I’ve traveled to that has literally taken my breath away. Check out seven of my favorite photos and let me know if I’ve convinced you to join me next time 😉

6 Reasons To Road Trip To Utah with Mazda!

This post is sponsored by Mazda USA. As always, all opinions are my own.

Two weeks ago, I partnered with Mazda USA to experience the most epic road trip from Phoenix, Arizona to Kanab, Utah and I kind of wish I was still on that road trip. Utah is absolutely beautiful but the main reason why I had such a blast on this last trip was because I had the amazing opportunity to drive the Mazda 6! This car is perfect for a road trip and I honestly didn’t want to return it. Check out 6 reasons why you need to add a Mazda road trip to your bucket list!

11 English & Spanish Book Recommendations From Boss Ladies at #WeAllGrow!

Reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in Culebra, Puerto Rico

World Book day is in just a few days (April 23rd) and I am so excited to celebrate! I have been an avid reader since childhood, even going so far as getting invited to ride in a limousine in 4th grade because I read the most books in my entire elementary school (#NerdAlert). These days, I don’t read as often as I’d like but I do get some reading time in when I can, especially while traveling.

A few weeks ago, I attended the #WeAllGrow Latina Bloggers Summit (check out my recap here) and several of the speakers had book recommendations to share.

I made sure to jot down the recommendations to add to my reading list and I feel it is my duty to share! Enjoy these 11 books (in no particular order) recommended by boss ladies!
