The Ultimate Washington DC Food and Drink Bucket List!

If you love having a variety of restaurants to choose from, then you need to stop by Washington DC. There are so many amazing restaurants that it could be so difficult to choose what to eat so you need several days in DC to truly experience the cuisine. Check out all of my favorite spots and let me know which sounds the best!

BAKED AND WIRED

I had the most delicious strawberry cupcake I’ve ever had in my life. No lie, it was so good. If you’re ever in DC, stop by Baked & Wired in Georgetown and grab a cupcake. They’re huge and full of flavor!

BUKOM CAFE

If you’ve never had West African food, stop what you’re doing and go try Bukom Cafe! I loved their popular fried chicken wings served with jollof rice. Everything was amazing!

We also tried the spicy, grounded peanut coated chicken topped with our special chichinga spice.

COMPASS ROSE

The chicken tikki massala was so flavorful and if you’re looking for a place with several international desserts, then look no further than Compass Rose in DC. I had the cannoli and it was so delicious and so sweet!

L’ARDENTE

I had the most amazing pasta at L’ardente in Washington DC, like it may actually be the best pasta I’ve ever had in the USA. The restaurant was pretty fancy and the service was incredible!

I had the zucca pasta which was incredible and had so much flavor in every single bite! It was pretty hot (temperature wise) and I burned my tongue because it was that good lol. I loved the Sausage Ragù with parmigiano, basil and fennel pollen in the dish!

NANDO’S PERI PERI

I tried Nandos when I was in DC after my friend Arly recommended it to me and omg friends, it was so freaking delicious. I had their very spicy wings, fries, and Portuguese rice. Everything hit the spot!

The wing sauce was so good that I even debated bringing a bottle of hot sauce back home but I didn’t want to carry the hot sauce but I will definitely get it next time!

THE OLD EBBITT GRILL

I asked some friends for their favorite restaurant in DC and I was told that I needed to eat at The Old Ebbitt Grill! It was PHENOMENAL. I had the rock fish and it was super buttery and flaky and delicious. Highly recommend!

SUPRA

My friend recommended Supra, a Georgian restaurant in DC and I was so pumped to try it because I had never had Georgian food and I was blown away. Everything was amazing and so flavorful. The ajaruli is a boat-shaped cheese bread with egg that the server mixes up for you at your table is so good!

We enjoyed our meal family style and tried a ton of plates which is how I would recommend you approach this restaurant. I really liked the chicken mtsvadi which came with chicken breast (5-6 pcs), grilled on skewers, marinade of svanuri salt, lemon & garlic, house-pickled cabbage slaw, and red tkemali.

The salmon with roasted vegetables was also delicious! I loved the grilled salmon, roasted cauliflower, georgian-spiced sauce of roasted carrot, with pepper & tomato.

The roasted cauliflower was the star of the show for me as it had so much flavor!

Also highly recommend Georgian wine!

And don’t skip out on dessert!
