If you love hearty meals with unique flavors, then you need to travel to Bogota, Colombia! Check out all of my favorite spots and let me know which sounds the best!
ANDRES CARNE DE RES
MY FAVORITE meal in Colombia: chicken and beef from Andres Carne de Res in Bogota. This restaurant is famous, has the best decor, is huge, has a dance floor and the menu is over 50 pages long and that’s not even counting the cocktail pages. This restaurant came highly recommended by friends and by the internet, and now it has my seal of approval. All of the cuts of meat had so much flavor packed in each bite and the arepas (cornmeal based) paired so perfectly with it!
RESTAURANT IN PLAZOLETA CHORRO DE QUEVEDO
I unfortunately don’t remember the name of this restaurant in this historic neighborhood but they had the best food! It’s right next to the cathedral so hopefully you can find it. The stew was delicious as well as this pastel that reminded me of a Mexican tamal.
For dessert we tried the famous Colombian hot chocolate that came with cheese and bread. It is truly the trifecta. The sweetness of the hot chocolate goes so well with the saltiness of the cheese. Don’t knock it till you try it!
