The Ultimate Bogota Bucket List!

We made it to Bogota and it quickly became one of my favorite places in Colombia! The architecture is beautiful, there are so many amazing things to eat, and the city is full of history. Check out The Ultimate Bogota Bucket List and let me know if you’re inspired to visit!

What To Eat

MY FAVORITE meal in Colombia: chicken and beef from Andres Carne de Res in Bogota. This restaurant is famous, has the best decor, is huge, has a dance floor and the menu is over 50 pages long and that’s not even counting the cocktail pages. This restaurant came highly recommended by friends and by the internet, and now it has my seal of approval. All of the cuts of meat had so much flavor packed in each bite and the arepas (cornmeal based) paired so perfectly with it! Check out more food recommendations here!

What To See/Do

ENJOY THE ART

There’s so much beautiful art all around Bogota so I recommend yu walk around and take it all in!

BOGOTA CATHEDRAL

We absolutely had to check out Primatial Cathedral of Bogotá! This cathedral is MASSIVE and beautiful! It’s the largest cathedral in Colombia and one of the biggest in South America!

MONSERRAT HILL

This view is courtesy of getting to the top of Cerro Monserrate (Monserrate Hill) which is in the center of the city and has a church with a shrine (and a beautiful trail and gardens) at the top. To get to the top, you can hike, take a cable car (like we did, check out my Instagram Bogota story), or a train! During holy week, a ton of people hike to the top and partake in Easter mass. There’s food, shops, and areas to admire the view up here. Highly recommend! Cerro Monserrate is a big reason why I loved Bogota and can’t wait to return!
