While researching things to do in Capri, we kept seeing the Blue Grotto popping up on several lists. We decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did because it was so beautiful and such a cool experience!
The Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri in southern Italy. We booked a boat tour that took us all around the island of Capri and ended in the sea cave. The sunlight that shines through an underwater cavity is reflected back upward through the seawater below the cavern which gives it that famous glow.
You do have to pay a small ticket price to get in so be prepared for that. Check out all of my photos to inspire you to visit.
We booked a Viator boat tour and I highly recommend them! Our guide was super knowledgeable, took so many photos of us, and let us bring food and drinks onboard. There are a ton of options for boat tours so make sure to read the descriptions and select the one that best fits what you want to do. See all the options here!
Our boat tour took us to the Faraglioni, the symbol of Capri. On our boat tour, our skipper sailed throughout the rock arc of the “middle” and told us that kissing your partner during the crossing wishes you good luck and love together.
On our boat tour, we also god the chance to get out and swim for a bit!
After swimming, we kept exploring and saw even more rock formations!
And then comes the main event: The Blue Grotto!
It was such a cool experience being inside the Blue Grotto and I definitely encourage you to check it out whenever you are in Capri! I hope you get a skipper as amazing as ours!
Thank you all for reading, and stay enthusiastic!
