The Ultimate Oahu Bucket List!

If you’re looking for a beautiful island destination with incredible restaurants, beaches, and weather…you need to add Oahu to your bucket list

Check out everything you need to do on your next trip to Hawaii! Enjoy!

Your trip to Oahu begins on the plane where you can see the most beautiful views!

Where To Stay:

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency which was awesome because the beach is a quick walk away. We literally just had to cross the street and we were there at Waikiki Beach, the most popular beach in Oahu.

These were the views from our room!

The pool area at the Hyatt also has incredible views.

There’s also a giant candy store inside the hotel if you have a sweet tooth.

What To Eat:

There are so many delicious restaurants, my favorite was Liliha Bakery. I had the Portuguese sausage with fried rice and over easy eggs and it was amazing! The portions are huge so I’d recommend sharing with someone.

What To See and Do

Byodo-In Temple

If you’re vacationing in Oahu, you should take a 40 minute roadtrip to Kaneohe to visit the Byodo-In Temple. The Byodo-In Temple is a non-denominational Buddhist temple located on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi in Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. It was dedicated in August 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaiʻi. Check out more photos here.

Diamond Head State Park

Diamondhead State Park has a a trail to the summit of a volcanic tuff cone & former fort with panoramic views. Make sure to get a permit before you go as they do limit visitors each day! You can do so online. Check out all of my photos to inspire you to visit.

Explore the area

If you walk around you can check out some beautiful art and greenery.

Go on a run

Oahu has so many beautiful running areas with perfect weather so I highly recommend going out for a run!

Lolani Palace

The Lolani Palace was the royal residence of the rulers of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi beginning with Kamehameha III under the Kamehameha Dynasty and ending with Queen Liliʻuokalani under the Kalākaua Dynasty, founded by her brother, King David Kalākaua. I didn’t get to go inside but I definitely will next time!

North Shore

If you’re vacationing in Oahu, you should take a 40 minute roadtrip to the North Shore to see even more beautiful beaches that are less crowded. Check out some of my favorite pictures from Turtle Beach!

Waikiki Beach

If you are talking to anyone about Hawaii, they will most likely bring up Waikiki Beach in the conversation. Waikiki is a super popular beach and once you step foot onto the area, you’ll see why! The sand is soft, the color of the water is incredible, and there are so many restaurants and shops nearby. Check out all of my photos to inspire you to visit!

Officiate a Vow Renewal

While in Oahu, I officiated the vow renewal of my fiance’s parents on beautiful Waikiki Beach.

I loved Oahu because there is just so much to do. If you’d like to see more what I’ve done in Hawaii check out #MairaInHI on Instagram.
